Modern Approaches to Providing Telematics Oral Health Services in Pediatric Dentistry: A Narrative Review

A structural and organizational redesign of the dental care system is necessary today due to current trends in demographic process accompanying changes population’s healthcare needs. The purpose this article review literature, analyzing those that represent useful tools for oral health pediatric patients, with particular reference teledentistry all supports it uses reach remote territories or patients who, various reasons, cannot have access care. An independent literature search was conducted three electronic databases: PubMed/MEDLINE, Google Scholar, COCHRANE library. Thirty-one articles were considered. Reported findings highlight has been used pediatrics educate promote provide diagnosis monitoring through mobile applications, smartphone cameras apps, intraoral cameras, websites engines, telephonic communications. Specifically, beneficial providing locations difficult dentists, conducting diagnostic screening programs, between appointments, promoting children’s education, behavioral counseling prior office visits. Future research should further investigate long-term use, additional cost-effectiveness children.
